Pickleball in short.
What is pickleball?
Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. You play with a solid paddle and a light, perforated plastic ball on a badminton-sized court, usually in doubles. Serves are underhand, and right at the net is the “kitchen”, where you may not volley. Touch and tactics matter more than power.

Tip for beginners
Pick a game marked “Beginner” or “all levels”. Organisers often bring paddles and balls; the game description says whether they do. Indoor shoes with non-marking soles are all the gear you need.
Season
Pickleball is played all year: indoors in winter, outdoors too in summer. Matches are short, so a session fits nicely after work.
